Khemaies Jhinaoui

Khemaies Jhinaoui has been Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2016. He was confirmed as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the National Unity Government. In the framework of the Middle East peace process, and at the request of the Palestinian Party, he headed the Tunisian Interests Office in Tel-Aviv (1996-1997). He was Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to the Court of Saint James (UK) jointly accredited to the Republic of Ireland (1999-2004). Khemaies Jhinaoui was also Director and Chief of Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2004-2006), General Director for Political and Economic Cooperation with Europe and the European Union, and served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to the Russian Federation (2007-2011). He was Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (2011-2012), and in 2013 he headed the Diplomatic Institute for Training and Studies, after which he was appointed Diplomatic and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President of the Republic (2015-2016).
