Maria Demertzis

Maria Demertzis is an economist by training and profession. She is currently the Deputy Director at Bruegel, the Brussels based economic think tank. She has worked at the European Commission, the Research Department of the Dutch Central Bank, the Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government in the US and the University of Strathclyde in the UK (Glasgow). She has published in international peer-reviewed journals and books (all papers available in her “Ideas page”), and she is a regular speaker in international conferences, policy forums and central banks.
